Boycetown, there are a selection of crags in the Blue Mountains were the actual access and exits are as adventurous as the climbing itself. Waterfall, Banksy and some of the Ngula Bulgarabang/ Radiata Plateau crags like the Pit are perfect examples. After checking out Boycetown for the first time it has moved to the top of the list with its own waterfall gully to a perfect belay stance, rap point with safety line and perfectly overhanging via ferrata along the waterfall.
Once at the bottom you have your own little micro-crag shady in the morning and sunny in the afternoon. Occasionally you hear the voices from Boronia Point directly opposite in the valley. It is a serene experience and you are most likely to have this crag all to yourself. Dave and I explored the craga and loved the high quality of the routes with a mix of sport and some choice crack lines.
Boisterous (23***) Fantastic long and continuously engaging line. Good warmup for most strong folks but still had to try hard for this one.
Beastie Boys (26***) Monster 30m pitch along a rising arete, with crux traverse through several rests to grand finale above a roof. Dave came very close to the onsight until the final inexplicable section of blankness.
Little Boys Room (25***) I had my heart set on the onsight since the tough section is early and the top is supposed to be not so bad. Came close but the crux got me after. Locked of the jug after crossing the roof and committed to an intermediate crimp rail - big mistake. Found alternative BETA and sent second shot. Amazing route with lots of tea-breaks after some hard sections. The headwall is sublime.
